The first two weeks after sprouting see the most losses, usually from overwatering or heat rather than neglect. Seedlings have tiny roots and need only a little water around the stem, with the medium drying slightly between applications. Young plants from feminised cannabis seeds are no hardier than any other seedlings at this stage, so a gentle light at a generous distance and temperatures around 22 to 25 degrees Celsius suit them best. Damping-off fungus thrives in soggy conditions and causes most sudden collapses.
